NLCIL JOB NOTIFICATION 2023

NLC India Limited (NLC) (formerly Neyveli Lignite Corporation India Limited) is a central public sector undertaking under the administrative control of the Ministry of Coal, Government of India. It annually produces about 30 million tonnes of lignite from opencast mines at Neyveli in the state of Tamil Nadu in southern India and at Barsingsar in Bikaner district of Rajasthan state.

The lignite is used at pithead thermal power stations of 3640 MW installed capacity to produce electricity. Its joint venture has a 1000 MW thermal power station using coal. Lately, it has diversified into renewable energy production and installed 1404 MW solar power plant to produce electricity from photovoltaic (PV) cells and 51 MW electricity from windmills.

NCLIL SELECTION PROCESS

• Selection will be based on GATE 2023 Score (80 Marks) followed by Personal Interview (20 Marks).Applicants who have qualified the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) -2023 and meeting the eligibility criteria as per the notification will be shortlisted for personal interview in the ratio 1:6 against the notified vacancies, based on the merit order of marks (out of 100) scored in (GATE) – 2023, ensuring due reservation for SC / ST / OBC(NCL) / EWS / PwBD.
• Short listing of candidates for Area-1 (Thermal Power Stations & Renewable Energy) and Area-2 (Mines & Allied services) is independent based on merit order of the GATE-2023 score in the ratio 1:6 against the notified vacancies. Accordingly, area wise merit list of shortlisted candidates will be prepared separately for Area-1 and Area-2 based on GATE-2023 score, ensuring due reservation.
• Candidate opted for Area-1 cannot claim selection for Area-2 or vice versa. The area wise shortlisted candidates will be called for Personal Interview.
• The Final selection shall be in the order of merit based on the total marks scored by the candidates out of 100 marks, (i.e.) sum of marks scored in GATE 2023 (80 marks) and Personal Interview (20 marks), ensuring due reservation.
• In case of tie at cut-off level, (i.e.) more than one candidate scoring same marks (out of 100) at cut-off level, such cases will be resolved by applying the following criteria, one after another, till the tie is resolved.
• Date of Birth of the candidates, senior most candidate(s) by age will be placed higher;
  Alphabetical order of first name of the candidates.
  On successful completion of Document / Certificate Verification & Medical Examination, “Offer of Appointment” will be issued to the selected candidates who meet the notified qualifying norms and found medically fit.

NCLIL APPLICATION PROCESS

• Candidates must apply exclusively through the online mode on the NLCIL website www.nlcindia.in. Before applying, ensure an active mobile number and email ID, as all communication will be conducted through SMS/email. Register once using GATE-2023 details.
• Choose either Area-1 (Thermal Power Stations & Renewable Energy) or Area-2 (Mines & Allied Services) for application; multiple registrations or applying for both areas are not allowed. Shortlisting for Area-1 and Area-2 will be independent.
• Applicants must upload required documents in the specified format. After online submission, print the registration form, and during document verification, provide it with self-attested copies. Scrutiny for shortlisting relies on uploaded documents.
• Candidates can preview documents before submission. Review the complete advertisement before applying. Apply through www.nlcindia.in; manual/paper applications are not accepted; do not send hard copies to the office.
