The Western Railway (WR) is one of the 19 zones of Indian Railways and is among the busiest railway networks in India, headquartered at Mumbai, Maharashtra.The Western Railway was created on 5 November 1951 by merging several state-owned railways, including the Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway (BB&CI), and the Saurashtra Railway, Rajputana Railway and Jaipur State Railway. The narrow-gauge lines of Cutch State Railway was also merged into it in 1951.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

The Applicants should have already passed the prescribed qualification on the date of issue of this Notification i.e. 20/09/2024

AGE LIMIT

The Applicants should have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 24 years of age as on 22/10/2024

TRAINING PERIOD & STIPEND

The selected Applicants are required to undergo apprenticeship training for a period of 01 Year. Selected Candidates engaged as Apprentices will undergo Apprenticeship training for a period of one year and will be paid a Stipend during the training at the prescribed rate as per extant rules governed by the concerned State Governments.

MODE OF APPLICATION

Applicants can submit their applications ONLINE only on RRC’s website https://www.rrc-wr.com. The candidature of the Applicants will be considered only on the basis of theinformation filled in the ONLINE application. Document Verification will be held in theconcerned Divisions & Workshops

MODE OF SELECTION

Selection of the eligible Applicants for imparting training under the Apprentice Act, 1961 will be based on the merit list which would be prepared taking the average of the percentage of marks obtained by the Applicants in both Matriculation [with minimum 50% (aggregate) marks] and ITI examination giving equal weightage to both. In case of two Applicants ·having the same marks the Applicants having older age shall be preferred. Incase the dates of birth are also same, then the Applicants who passed matriculation exam earlier shall be considered first. There will be no written test or viva.
