B.TECH LATERAL ENTRY TEST 2025!!!
The B.Tech Lateral Entry is a highly popular course, as many students who have completed their engineering diplomas seek to further their education by pursuing a B.Tech degree through this pathway. Lateral entry allows students to be admitted directly into the second year of a degree program, bypassing the first year. This option is typically available to individuals with a diploma or an equivalent qualification in a related field. Lateral entry offers several advantages, such as enabling students to skip repeated coursework and facilitating a smoother transition into a professional degree program.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- To be eligible for B.Tech Lateral Entry , candidates must have successfully completed a 3-year engineering diploma with a minimum aggregate of 50%. While most students pursue a diploma after completing class 10th, those who have completed their diploma after 12th are also eligible for lateral entry into the B.Tech program.
- Candidates who are in their final year of the diploma program can also apply, provided they submit the Qualifying Certificate (either original or provisional) at the time of admission.
- Candidates age should not be more than 30 years on the date of admission.
- Diploma holders entering degree programme can choose a different B.Tech stream, regardless of their diploma specialization, allowing them to change departments of fields of study through the lateral entry process.
APPLICATION PROCESS
The application process involves several steps, including registration, completing the application form, paying the fee, uploading a photo and signature, and submitting the final application. Candidates must ensure that all details provided in the application form are accurate, as any incorrect information may lead to rejection. Only those who meet the eligibility criteria will be allowed to appear for the exam
HOW TO APPLY
Candidates interested in pursuing the course are required to apply through the online application portal available on the official website of the LBS Centre for Science and Technology .
EXAM PATTERN
- A State level OMR based objective type Entrance Examination for duration of two hours will be conducted by The Director, LBS Centre for Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram for the selection.
- The Entrance Examination will be as per the syllabus based on First year B.Tech curriculum of Kerala Technological University (KTU).
- There is no negative mark in the valuation of answer scripts of entrance examination. For every correct answer candidates will get one mark and no reduction of mark (negative mark) for the wrong answers.
- The Entrance Test have two parts ie, part A for Diploma students and D Voc stream candidates for 120 marks and Part B for B.Sc stream students for 120 marks
- Marking for more than one bubble against a question will be considered as wrong answer
- Erasing, overwriting, partial marking etc may also be treated as wrong answer.
- No mark for unanswered questions.
- If the candidate does not answer any single question, that candidature will be cancelled
