NATIONAL ENGINEERS DAY CELEBRATIONS 2026 – CIVILIANZ MAZE 8.0

CIVILIANZ MAZE 8.0 is a joint venture of Swadeshi Science Movement & Civilianz, with AICTE and APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) as Academic Associates, in association with the Association for Engineering Professionals (AEP), IEEE, Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Indian Concrete Institute (ICI), Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS), Energy Conservation Society (ECS), and Association of Engineers Kerala. Federal Bank is the Banking Partner, and Club FM is the Radio Partner.

Maze 8.0 heralds the eighth edition of the Inter-College Engineering Quiz Competition, an esteemed annual intellectual pursuit held in commemoration of Engineers’ Day. Since its inception in 2019 at the College of Engineering Trivandrum, Maze has evolved into a celebrated forum within Kerala’s civil engineering fraternity, acclaimed for its academic rigour and spirited participation. This edition marks a significant expansion of its ambit by welcoming participants from Electrical and Mechanical Engineering alongside Civil Engineering, thereby fostering interdisciplinary learning, ingenuity, and intellectual fellowship among the state’s aspiring engineers.

History

Maze embarked on its journey in 2019 at the College of Engineering Trivandrum, inaugurated by Dr. S. Somanath, former Chairman of ISRO. Over the years, it has drawn an illustrious assembly of engineering visionaries and academic luminaries from across India.

Maze 5.0 marked a triumphant return to the offline arena at NIT Calicut, attracting 50+ colleges and over 700 participants. Gathering further momentum, Maze 6.0 brought together 200 teams and a footfall exceeding 900. Maze 7.0 reached another remarkable milestone, uniting 28 colleges and 387 teams before culminating at the College of Engineering Trivandrum.

Carrying this legacy forward, Maze 8.0 widens its canvas to unite Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering students in a vibrant confluence of knowledge, competition, and collective brilliance.

Event Structure

Maze 8.0 unfolds across four zonal competitions, bringing together participants from Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering. Each zone culminates in the selection of its finest teams, who advance to compete for the coveted title at the Grand Finale

Launch Event

The season kicks off with Civilianz MAZE 8.0 Professionals, welcoming engineering professionals and aspirants, on 31st August 2026 at The Institution of Engineers (India), Trivandrum. 

On the occasion of National Engineers Day Celebrations 2026, the launch event honoured two distinguished engineering leaders whose dedicated service and leadership have contributed significantly to the development of Kerala:

Curtain Raiser Events

Before the main quiz events, MAZE 8.0 will feature a Curtain Raiser events, offering a variety of exciting competitions designed to engage and entertain participants and attendees alike.

Following the launch, MAZE 8.0 will roll out across four zones covering all of Kerala:

Grand Finale

Zone winners will compete in the Grand Finale on 17th September 2026 at LBS Institute of Technology for Women, Poojappura, where the overall champions will be crowned and prizes worth ₹1 lakh+ awarded.
