The Rubber Board is a statutory body constituted by the Government of India, under the Rubber Act 1947, for the overall development of the rubber industry in the country.
It functions under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry of the Government of India. The Board has a Chairman appointed by the Central Government. He shall preside over every meeting of the Board at which he is present and in his absence, the Vice Chairman shall preside, but when both the Chairman and the Vice Chairman are absent from any meeting, the members present shall elect one of their own member to preside at that meeting.
