THDC India Limited is a leading Power Sector and Profit-making Public sector Enterprise and registered as a Public Limited Company in July-1988 under the Companies Act,1956. THDCIL was conferred ‘Mini Ratna’ Category-I Status in Oct-2009 and up-graded to Schedule ‘A’ PSU in July-2010 by the Govt. of India. The Equity of Company was earlier shared between Govt. of India and GoUP in the ratio of 75:25. Pursuant to Strategic Sale, the Share Purchase Agreement was executed between NTPC Limited and President of India on 25th March,2020, for acquisition of legal and beneficial ownership of equity held by the President of India in THDC India Limited. After Strategic Sale, Equity in THDC India Limited is shared between NTPC Limited and Government of UP in a ratio of 74.496% and 25.504%.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

1. The eligible candidates must have appeared for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) Candidates shall be shortlisted based on 2023 GATE score from among the candidates who apply
   against the advertisement for the post of Engineer Trainee (Civil) in THDCIL.
2. Details of GATE 2023 paper is as below:

3. The normalized score of GATE 2023 will form the basis of shortlisting.
4. In case the GATE Score 2023 of two candidates are same then marks obtained in Essential qualification examination (Engineering Degree) will form the basis, in case marks obtained in Essential qualification examination (Engineering Degree) is also same then marks obtained in class XII will be taken into consideration, in case the marks of class XII is also same then marks obtained in class X will be taken into consideration. In case the marks obtained in class X is also same then Date of Birth will be taken into consideration for preparing the merit between such two candidates and person born earlier will be considered.
5. The selection process consists of marks obtained in the corresponding paper of GATE 2023,
   Group Discussion and Personal Interview

Weightage of Different Parameters:
For calculation of final score of a candidate for empanelment, the weightage of marks obtained
in GATE 2023, Group Discussion and Personal Interview shall be indicated below:
